How is SocialWOD different from other WOD trackers?

Other WOD trackers rely on the athlete or you, the gym owner, to enter WOD data. Gym owners that we spoke to told us that 10-20% of their members used a WOD tracker when the gym owner paid for one - the firebreathers and the data geeks.

With SocialWOD, we take care of putting your whiteboard data online. All your members get their scores tracked, and they do no work for that to happen. And neither do you, aside from emailing us your whiteboard photo.

Once WOD data is in, you get:

  • WOD tracking for your whole gym
  • attendance tracking
  • automated posting to Facebook
  • marketing via Facebook commenting

Will my athletes actually care about and use SocialWOD?

Absolutely. We read comments from athletes like “I love this” and “This is awesome” all the time.

But the real numbers are in this pudding: one of our current customers has enjoyed 1700 visits to his SocialWOD site in just 3 weeks from his existing athletes... and his gym has fewer than 50 members. Engagement like that from athletes is common amongst our customers.

Why should I pay for WOD tracking? Is SocialWOD worth the money?

SocialWOD does a lot more than WOD tracking. If SocialWOD prevents you from
losing one member because athletes can realize how much they’ve improved at
your gym, or helps you gain a new member through Facebook word-of-mouth
marketing, SocialWOD will have paid for itself (for large gyms, it’d take
two new or saved members).

How accurate is the data?

Close to 99% accurate, though if your whiteboard is perfectly readable it's 99.9%.

I put multiple WODs on my whiteboard every day, but I only want one tracked. How do I specify this?

We'll track the WOD marked "Main WOD" on the whiteboard. So if you have multiple WODs, just write "Main WOD" beside the one you want tracked.

We do strength and met-con WODs on the same day. Will you track both?

You bet. Make sure the "Track multiple WODs per day" checkbox for your plan is checked and we'll track your strength and met-con WODs for you.

Do I have to send in named WODs, or can they be any random WOD I make up?

Any WOD you can dream up, we can track... as long as you can write it on a whiteboard :)

How does the attendance report work?

You'll receive the attendance report every Sunday morning. It shows you which of your athletes haven't attended class in the last 7, 14, and 30 days.

Are there any setup fees?

Nope! There are no setup fees of any kind.

Am I locked into a contract?

No. Your contract is on a pay-as-you-go basis. You're free to cancel any time.

Are prices based on how many athletes are written on the whiteboard or how many we have at our gym?

Choose based on the number of athletes at your gym. If you have 95 members at your gym, you'd pick the Helen plan that supports 51 to 100 athletes.

Is there a specific way we should write our information on the white board?

  1. Each athlete should have a unique name.

    For example, if you have three Sarahs, you could use their last initials, like this:

    • Sarah C
    • Sarah X
    • Sarah W

    Some gyms also use nicknames.


  2. Send in a clear, readable photo of your whiteboard. If you can't read your whiteboard, we can't either.

And if you write RX and PR beside a score, it'll be logged in SocialWOD.

What is the turnaround time from emailing the pic to you to getting a WOD posted on my site or to Facebook?

We generally post WODs within 12 hours (usually a lot quicker).

As soon as we the WOD is posted to your SocialWOD site, it's also posted to your gym's Facebook page (if you've set up Facebook posting).

Should I send photos once a day, or batch them up and send them weekly?

Definitely once a day. Here's why:

Getting to see results daily is a lot more fun for your athletes. They get to check their scores and see how they did on a workout while it's fresh in their mind.

It creates a steady drum beat of engagement and activity around your gym via email, Facebook etc., which is better for establishing community and more helpful for your marketing.

You get more accurate and update-to-date attendance tracking.

You get PR reminders while they're fresh so you can follow up in a timely fashion.

Should I send in photos after each class, or at the end of the day?

One photo a day is the best way to do this, otherwise we'd create a separate WOD for each photo you send in.

My whiteboard is huge. How can I take a photo that you can read?

Take multiple close-up photos of different parts of your whiteboard, and attach them to a single email. Check out the whiteboard best practices page for examples of this.

My athletes aren't marked as have done the WODs RX'd. Why?

We only record a WOD as RX'd if there's an RX beside an athlete's name on the whiteboard.

How should I write Round-based scores on my whiteboard? How are they shown in SocialWOD?

The best way to write rounds on your whiteboard is like this:

5 + 23

The "5" indicates the number of rounds completed, and the 23 indicates the number of reps in the 6th round.

This is how rounds-based scores will appear on your SocialWOD site.

How do I fix errors in my data?

We strive to get your WODs right 100% of the time, but sometimes mistakes do happen.

When they do, here's how you can fix up your data.

Edit an athlete. This allows you to change an athlete's name or nickname. Watch a video showing how to edit an athlete in SocialWOD.

Combine athletes. This allows you to combine two SocialWOD accounts into one. You'd need this if one day you use the athlete's real name on your whiteboard, and the next you use their nickname. SocialWOD would have two accounts that belong to the same person. Use this tool to combine them. Watch a video showing how to combine athletes in SocialWOD.

Edit a WOD. This allows you to edit a WOD's date, name and description. Watch a video of how to edit a WOD's date, name, and description on SocialWOD.

Add a score to a WOD. If an athlete is left off the whiteboard you can add his or her score to the appropriate WOD on SocialWOD. Watch a video showing how to add a score to WOD.

Change or delete an athlete's score. If an athlete's score is incorrect, you can change it or delete it. Watch a video showing how to change or delete an athlete's score on SocialWOD.

I have multiple profiles. How do I combine them?

Yes, just fill in the form below and select the the combine profiles option. Include links to the profiles you want combined and the whiteboard name of the profile that you want to use going forward.

My score is wrong. How can I fix it?

If you've already claimed your profile you can watch this short video which explains how to edit your scores. If you haven't claimed your profile you can go here to claim it and then edit your score. Still need help with a score? Fill in the form below and select "Incorrect/missing score".

How do I claim my profile?

Why does the weekly gym activity email say I did fewer WODs than I actually did?

Usually this is because either 1) your gym didn't send in all of the WODs. You can check that here. Or 2) you have a duplicate profile. You can check that here. If you have a duplicate profile email us to get it combined.

How do I reenable posting score to my Facebook timeline?

To reenable posting to your personal Facebook page:


  1. Log into SocialWOD

  2. Click on your name in the right section of the black bar at the top of the page

  3. Click "Edit" in the Admin Actions section on the right side of the screen

  4. Scroll to the bottom of the page and make sure the "Yes, automatically post my scores to Facebook" box is checked

  5. Click the Update Athlete button

How do I reenable posting WODs to my gyms Facebook page?

To reenable posting to your gym's page:


  1. log in to SocialWOD

  2. Click on the "Settings" link in the right section of the black bar at the top of the page

  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page

  4. Click the blue "Enable automatic WOD posting to Facebook" under the "Automatically Post WODs to Facebook" section
